Troops, not programs.
Volunteers and Troopers connect in small troops that stay together — the same faces every session, because trust is built on consistency.
A youth-powered nonprofit bringing young people and kids with developmental disabilities together as equals.
SparkTroops brings high school volunteers and kids with developmental disabilities together in troops — small, consistent groups that meet, play, learn, and grow as equals.

Volunteers and Troopers connect in small troops that stay together — the same faces every session, because trust is built on consistency.

Activities designed around each Trooper’s comfort — sensory-aware, structured, and supported one-to-one by trained volunteers.

A troop is a real community — friendships built on trust between equals, never superiority. Everyone who takes part earns the same recognition: an equal reward system that celebrates showing up and participating, side by side.

Every adult and teen volunteer completes safety training before their first session. Troop Leaders undergo background checks. Two-adult supervision is the rule, not the exception.
Read how we protect every child →When volunteers join a troop, they do not simply become companions or acquaintances. They become a meaningful, confident source of friendship, belonging, and support for kids with developmental disabilities–many of whom quietly long for the kind of social connection and community that others may take for granted. Spark Troops is here to help bridge that gap. It is a reminder that happiness is often found in the small things: showing up, sharing a laugh, making someone feel included, and building genuine connections along the way. These moments may seem simple, but together, they can make a lasting difference.
